My first visit at SaltAir Spa (50 Ashmore Road Torquay) for a Day Spa Package exceeded my expectation regarding Skin cleansing and friendly/relaxing treatment. However, I visited SaltAir yesterday 28/6/21 a second time for a Deluxe Facial Treatment and was disappointed. The treatment was executed by Spa Therapist’s name ‘Tara’: 1) Uncomfortable strong pressure was used for the head massage especially at the temples and the nape of the neck. 2) Although I requested to ease the pressure, the treatment was changed for about a minute before high finger pressure was used again. 3) During the massage hair was pulled as the fingers were moved from one spot to the next without untangling the hair first. 4) While wiping the face with hot towels, on 3 occasions the towels were placed over the nose instead of leaving it uncovered. 5) The height-adjustable treatment table was incorrectly operated 2 times. 6) Repeatedly, towels and blankets were readjusted on face and body on a rough manner. 7) At the end of the treatment, there was a so much of an oily layer left on the face that it dripped on my shoulders while getting dressed. 8) I had to use an extra towel to wipe the excess down, and when I mentioned it to the Therapist I received just a giggling for her and two more employees. 9) At no time did the facial nor the massage feel relaxing or executed in a caring way. 10) One day later, the temples still hurt due of the mistreatment. The SaltAir experience was blemished as one Spa Therapist’s put much effort into making me as a customer unwanted and unrespected.
