I am always happy with Kayleigh as she does such a great job and is so professional with how she does things. She always makes me feel a million dollars and knows exactly what I want. . However, I don't like how an apprentice/trainee girl takes over and does the wash/blow dry once Kayleigh goes to do another customer, especially considering the money I am paying i expect top quality service. I come to Luxe to see Kayleigh specifically so I do not want other people touching my hair. The girl who did it today, Taylor just seemed to be in her own world and had no interest in what she was doing. I believe that to make a good hairdresser they need to be passionate and interested in their job which definitely was NOT evident with Taylor. I am always happy with everything since I first began coming to Luxe but today I walked out abit disappointed.

I went to Luxe Concepts for a quick updo for an event on Saturday night. I was quoted $50 for this service after answering a few questions about what I was after and what hair type I had. During my appointment it was then explained to me that a quick updo is actually code for 'half up, half down' which is not what I was after. I was told that they could do an updo for a little bit more money. My hair looked beautiful but I was charged $95. Almost twice what I was originally quoted. Although I was happy with the end result, I would not return based on this experience.

Very disappointed that I was sprung the $75 cost after every thing was done and dusted. Certainly unprofessional and it's generally not the case if it's a walk in.

My only criticism of my visit is that when I asked if products that I was contemplating buying were cruelty free ( not tested on animals ) I was told the brand was, but when I looked the brand up as a precaution, the brand was not classed as cruelty free.I brought this to the attention of the staff member and they immediately brought me an alternative brand that was definitely on the cruelty free list( which I purchased) I bring this up as using cruelty free products is very important to me and is not a subject I take lightly so advice on brands should be given after due diligence is used.

Jess, the stylist was aggressive and loud in her manner when she was attempting to convey her point across. And she wasn't even my stylist for the consult or on the day, but wanted to give her opinion at every moment. Nas on the other hand, was a very kind and friendly stylist, who actually worked on my hair. She tried really hard to achieve what I wanted. Although instead of what I think is balayage, I think I just go streaks but lower down. I was referred to the salon by someone close. But I'm not sure this salon is 'for me'. It's expensive and I don't think I got what I wanted.
