I gave the lower rating for the environment purely as I think the coffee machine shouldn't be near one of the chairs, it takes away from the experience of having your hair cut (which for me is a pampering experience) to have people making coffee right next to you, it feels like you're in a cafe having your hair cut with the constant foot traffic and noise of the machine (and the door opening and closing and making that noise it does). The end couple of chairs feel like it's not part of the salon per se, you are right next to the reception, next to the waiting area and next to the coffee machine - you feel somewhat like a lesser customer being in those chairs (or I do anyway).

I think is is sexist to charge more for women than men to cut hair regardless of time taken. No other reason to charge more other than hairdressers always have!

The staff here are always so friendly and always make you welcome. They take as much time as required to ensure you leave the salon with a haircut both you and they are happy with. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I wouldn't even bother looking anywhere else.
