I had an awful experience at Sfumato. I agreed to have a couple of inches cut off but my hair was cut far shorter than I had agreed to - almost shoulder length (it was waist length). This is very upsetting since I have naturally curly hair. I emphasised that I only ever air dry my hair prior to the cut, but I will now have to blow-dry it daily for it to look presentable, damaging my hair. Not only is my hair far shorter than I wanted, but the haircut was awful and I had to have it fixed. It was lopsided, uneven and had a thick, unblended chunk of hair inches shorter on one side at the front. When I went back (less than 1 hour later), the receptionist was very rude, and she offered no reading material despite informing me I would have to wait at least 45 minutes. This cost $100.

When I came into the salon yesterday, I specifically asked for a particular hair style, even bringing a drawing of what I wanted. After spending months growing out the last too-short style, I now have to do the same again. My hairdresser appeared to listen to what I asked but must have gone into her own little world and has done what I specifically asked her NOT to do. Once again I have a style I hate - short at the back and longer at the sides. Aghh!

I was 10 minutes late so had to wait 1hour before I was seen by a stylist. I spoke with her for 3 minutes to decide on a colour then the apprentice coloured my hair. I didn't see the stylist again and was charged $120. Overall a very negative experience...obviously overbooked.

He ripped my hair on purpose which is not professional at all, just to make his point! He did not have to rip my hair out in order to tell me I should not get my hair dyed! Terrible service!

I was at the salon for more than three hours for a simple cut and colour and ended up being charged more than $200 for the experience. I was not at all impressed.
