I just recently celebrated my one year anniversay with my stylist. After moving home to Melbourne after 17 years overseas (and the ONE hair stylist), finding my new "person" for hair was a bit of a trial. Until i discovered Richard and his team at CREAM! CREAM is one of those rare salons that quietly sets the standard — and then exceeds it. From the moment you walk in, the experience feels considered, not performative. The space is effortlessly cool (without trying too hard), the team is warm but highly professional, and there’s a calm confidence in how everything runs. No chaos, no overpromising — just people who know exactly what they’re doing. And then there’s the detail that seals it — you’re invited to sit back and sip something from their menu. Coffee, wine, something in between — it’s that small but intentional touch that shifts the whole experience from “appointment” to ritual. The consultation was the standout. They actually listened — not just to what I said, but to what I meant. The stylist translated that into something that worked with my hair type, face shape, and lifestyle. It felt collaborative, not transactional. The result? Genuinely one of the best cuts I’ve had. Clean, modern, and — most importantly — wearable. The kind of hair that still looks good days later without effort, which is the real test. Also worth calling out: – No upselling or pressure (rare) – High-end products, but used thoughtfully – Timing was spot on — no long waits or rushed finish CREAM delivers that elusive mix of technical skill and understated luxury. It’s not about hype — it’s about consistently excellent work. If you’re looking for a Melbourne salon that actually earns its reputation, this is it.
