I have been a customer at Pivot Point for over 5 years and I have a very pleasant experience every time I visit. However, last time I was there (two days ago), one of the supervisors who was on duty (who I've never seen before and don't know her name), was very arrogant. I asked for an opinion on a hairstyle and she managed to create a conflict situation within the first three sentences. She frowned as she spoke, and she was pulling my hair like I was a doll not a human, while she was explaining the trainee what she needed to do. She also gave instructions to the trainee without clarifying with me first if that is what I had in mind. And when I asked her to clarify the terminology she interrupted me and arrogantly said "I was just about to explain what that means!". Several times she said: we are only an academy, we can only do so much", and "this is just how your hair is like", but throughout our conversation, she didn't hear the word I was saying as what she was saying made no sense in the context of my inquiry. She was very grumpy, and frowned the whole time. Very unpleasant experience! She looked like she was having a very bad day, and I hope that's not her usual character, as it is most unappealing! The trainee later called another supervisor to give second opinion, who was very friendly, calm, listened and talked to me without ignoring me, and she checked up on the trainee several times as this hairstyle was new to her. The trainee, with the advice from the second supervisor, managed to do a great hairstyle, which I am very happy with, and in my amateur opinion, it was a fairly quick and simple hairstyle and exactly what I was after. I generally, like the atmosphere at Pivot Point, students are always friendly, and I am not a fussy customer, which is why I don't mind students working on my hair. But this lady shocked me with her attitude, as I was not expecting that at Pivot Point.

The cost of my haircut has increased to nearly double but the service has reduced by at least half. There was no greeting or providers name given. I was not offered coffee (I would be happy to pay for it). No magazine to read. There was no additional product offered, heat protector, mousse, shine etc. After my service had been signed off I was left to obtain my coat and pay at the counter alone. All these I had in all my numerous past visits over many years. Maybe there is new management overruling these services. I have to say the salon is never anywhere near as busy at is used to be.

Last cut & colour appointment approx 18 months ago - condition of hair has never been the same since - the girl doing the colour mixed it incorrectly & applied incorrect treatment - hair dried out to the extreme - paid & left salon most upset - then returned 5 minutes later - manager tried to fix it by attempting to cut out the worst parts, cutting my hair & style completly different - some of the young attendents working there were shocked by the appearance of my hair - the girl working on me had no idea - when given instructions she just nodded her head - you could see she did not understand at all - money not refunded to me nor was l offered a treatment product of some sort to help replenish the hair - l have since tried all sorts of products - would never attend this salon again & my friends have stopped going - the mistake was recognised by the manager & other staff - could have been handled more professionally.

Hello I came in today to have my roots coloured. I was told it would take 1 1/2 hours for this plus a blow-dry. I had the colour rinsed off 2 hours after I arrived. I said that I had to leave and would not have the blow-dry because it had taken too long. Though the girl was extremely slow I am not upset about that as I am aware that it is a learning environment. What I am upset about is that after 1 1/2 hours she left me to go do her next appointment. I had to wait for someone else to be free to finish washing out the colour and then I was to be moved on to another person to blow dry my hair. I asked to have some product put in my hair so it would dry on it's own more natural but was told you don't do this. I was left to leave the salon with dripping wet hair. My hair did not feel like it had conditioner in it and is extremely dry and brital. Normal after having a colour my hair feels smooth. The thing that makes me most upset was that a teacher was standing nearby and over heard my complaint of wet dripping hair, asking for a conditioner or product to make it feel better and she walked off. I was even more upset when I was charged for the blow-dry I never had.
