I took my daughter in to have permanent purple colour removed after clearly explaining multiple times that it was a permanent purple and asking whether this was something they could do. We were reassured that it could be removed. They managed to lift it to a pink, which was encouraging, but then a toner was applied and it turned her hair dark purple again — back to the colour we were trying to remove. One of the younger staff members actually seemed hesitant before the toner went on, but the senior stylist went ahead with it anyway. What was most disappointing was the way this was handled afterwards. When I asked about fixing it, the senior stylist made a comment about “not having the rest of the day to herself,” which made an already stressful situation really uncomfortable. We weren’t difficult or rude — we just wanted the result we were told was achievable and for my daughter to feel okay leaving the salon. Mistakes can happen, and I understand colour correction can be difficult, but communication and professionalism matter just as much as the final result. Unfortunately we left feeling disappointed, uncomfortable, and with my daughter’s hair darker purple than when we came in.
