Sorry this time was very poor. On arriving home, checked in the mirror in good light and found over 50% hair left on my top lip. Also eye brow wax was not up to the usual standard. Not impressed at all. I would of come back but I am leaving on a holiday today, and did not have the time.

The woman assigned to be my therapist did not listen to my requests and assumed she knew better. She did not ask any questions to clarify my request and did not explain the procedures she was doing. She was a very sweet person, but treated me as though I was just another 'number' to pass through her treatment room. No personal service. I left feeling very frustrated. The woman who settled the bill with me, however, was very understanding and accommodating. I would return to the salon, but will request to not have the same beauty therapist.

I asked for threading on my eyebrows and I got waxing and felt rushed it was my first time getting my eyebrows done so wasn’t a good experience at all.

On Thursday 13 November 2014 I booked into Pure Indulgence in Grand Central to have my legs waxed. The experience was not great. After the appointment my legs were rather sore, however I just put this down to the fact that I had just had them waxed. However, as time passed over the night they started to sting, I put lotion on them and went to bed. I woke the next morning to find that I had rather large burn patches and layers of skin missing across my legs. On my right leg a burn mark was the entire back of my leg from my knee to my ankle. I have attached a photo of this, however I have many more photos of the rest of my legs. Nearly a week on from this I still have marks across my legs, and they are still do not feel overly pleasent if they are bumped etc. I did go back to the salon and the ladies did refund me my money, but overall the experience was bad.

Because of a health condition they would not massage me, and didn’t provide much detail as to why other than “policy” and “lymphatic drainage”. Lymphatic drainage is actually a recommended treatment to ease pain and discomfort from the treatment I am undergoing, but somehow was the only reason they could provide for refusing to provide a relaxation massage someone who happens to have cancer. When I initially asked if the $200 gift card my family member bought for me as a gift could be refunded I was told no, and that if I just went to a doctor and got them to write a letter saying I am allowed to be massaged, then they would do it. Otherwise they could offer waxing (ripping hairs out of my skin is arguably more ‘risky’ and also no thank you). Being that I was very upset and definitely don’t feel safe and respected by pure indulgence as a whole (not the staff individually, but the business that assumes adult people don’t know what’s best for their own health), the manager called head office who approved a refund, but only to the person who bought the gift card initially which is fine. Let me just be clear - I also take a medication that has negative interactions with grapefruit, but guess what, I don’t need to provide a doctors note to the checkout kid at woolies to buy grapefruit, I just don’t buy it because I’m not an idiot. This was an extremely upsetting experience for me. I will not be back.
