Starfas Hair Design was established in 1985 by Peter Starfas on Chapel St. In 1998 Peter opened a salon in Wheelers Hill Shopping Centre where he stated until 2002. In 2010 Mel took over the family business, opened Starfas Hair Design in South Yarra Arcade, Toorak Rd. In May 2014 Starfas Hair Design relocated to Wheelers Hill Shopping Centre.

I was most disappointed to hear on my last visit that ‘Anna’ my hairdresser of many years is leaving. I will miss her very much. I k ow that nothing good lasts forever but we All Realise that there will come a day when we hear those fated words.- It sometimes takes forever to find somebody who understands your hair and style or creates a style Which is just what you always wanted and it becomes your own unique style which is what happened with Anna. I wish Anna every success in her new venture and hope she will continue to be the very creative, competent and caring Hairdresser that she has been at Starfas. And I hope she will have a happy, healthy and wonderful life in the future. But in losing Anna - I do realise that the remaining staff at Starfas are all very professional which is one of the positives of this wonderful salon .
