Have been a consistent client here for years but recently had a new stylist for my appointment (a straightforward trim and blowdry) - the appointment started and ended over 30 minutes past the scheduled time, with the stylist leaving for a significant duration of the appointment to tend to another client, which also meant a majority of the styling and prep ended up being done by an apprentice/other staff. Brushes were left in my hair for chunks of time and the blow dry had to be left incomplete because of the delay with things and the stylist was completely absent for a majority of the time, which also meant I paid for an appointment with an experienced stylist and instead received a mismanaged appointment run primarily by other assisting staff.

Walking out of Daly Salon was the first time I have ever walked out of a hair salon embarrassed by the way my hair looked . I had a flat top with a bulbous, shaggy and untidy curls in the mid range, with ends that stood prominently through out the back. While I think it is great that Kelsey is being trained on the job in styling/curling my hair, I genuinely do not think it was of a quality that I should have walked out sporting. Kelsey advised that the curls will look better once they've gotten some time to loosen, and I agreed- I thought maybe I didn't like the haircut/style as it is just something new I need to get use to as I am visiting a new hairdresser. By night time, even as the curls loosened, it was clear that it wasn't the tightness of the curls that was the problem, it was the styling. From the front, there was a single bulge that concaved out from the side of my cheeks, with the ends flared out at my shoulders. Similarly, the back had a flat top with only the middle being a bulbous, unevenly curled mess with thin ends. By the time of my event the next day, it was clear that the styling was not of presentable quality, therefore I washed my hair out and blow dried as normal to see if the hairstyle would look any better natural. Unfortunately, it became clear that it was not just the styling that was the problem, but the haircut itself looked shaggy and boxy. I had asked for layers, just as I had when I walked into the salon. Requesting the exact same hairstyle I had when I walked in, just shorter and to armpit length. While I appreciate the removal in weight, there has been too much removal to the point where it does not look natural at all. It looks like I have periodic spaces /not enough hair/volume on my head. Another issue is the prominent unblended layers. I have never seen such stark layers ever created- I could not tell in the salon with the curls in place and I genuinely wanted to give the salon a chance. I also walked into the salon with a U shaped haircut, but upon washing and drying I realise that my hair looks very boxy and straight as if it had been cut straight across. My hair prior to this appointment and styling had natural waves, which have since been disrupted by the curls that have been placed. I have never been so embarrassed with the way my hair looks, it has definitely affected my confidence and I am so, so disappointed with my experience. While Anh and Kelsey are both lovely people, I definitely will not be returning. I have asked for honest feedback from my close confidants and even they say that the haircut does not suit me and does look quite shaggy. While it does not fix my hair, I would appreciate it if Paul could reach out and process a refund for me.

The staff were lovely. I have a copper colour to my hair before the service which after discussing with the colourist we were going for a more natural foil with only a few blonds scattered through. I feel as though my hair looks the same as when I went in, although I now have 2 chunky blonds strips in my mid section. I did talk to the colourist about it, but she said that’s what we had agreed on. Maybe we were on a different page or I just didn’t understand what she meant. I had such a disappointing experience with Austin. I had gone in specifically for a curly cut and I had said that I wanted my hair to lie just below my shoulders to rejuvenate my curls as my hair was getting too long to maintain. My hair was cut well above my shoulders that I can't even hold it in my hands to tie it up. My curls are non-existent after my cut and my side part was cut into curtain bangs that don't curl anymore either. I paid $125 for this and I am left heartbroken my hair now looks like a bob. I have trusted this salon for a year and have always been happy to pay a little more for their good service, but I am left disheartened and very upset that my hair was treated like this. I will not be returning after this experience.
