Had a haircut there today. When I booked in 6 days ago, the price was $95. After the haircut and was about to pay, I was told they increased the price and they will charge me $113. I showed them my booking email and they said “Yes price increased after booking”. No communication regarding price change at all. I understand that they are affected by lockdown and would like more income to compensate the loss. But honestly I feel very bad about the experience - money hungry and dishonest.

My first time to do hair cut and coloring at Balwyn Heading Out. The overall environment and customer service was good. However the result of my hair cut made me feel disappointed. It still looked ok after blow dry at the salon… but after shampooing at home, my hair seems very messy and the bottom part was so heavy! Just thought my hair style looked better before the hair cut 😔

I booked for a haircut with a stylist that was costed at $85. When I arrived, the stylist I had booked obviously was not there and I had someone else - the stylist I had was perfectly nice but after consultation and hair washing, I came back to my booking receipt to see that I was now paying $95 which I hadn't agreed to. I felt uncomfortable saying anything but I was annoyed at the fact that I was placed in this situation. The cut was fine - it was a lot shorter than what I asked for and it was not styled to my liking but apart from that it is a decent cut - was it worth the price? No it wasn't.

The salon is old and dated and really dirty. For paying so much money I would have expected a cleaner salon. My hair treatment was not as great as my first experience which puzzles me as the more you do the treatment the better the results should have been.

When I was sat down there was hair still on the ground around my seat, I was offered a tea but no magazines, the stylist didn't talk to me through the whole service and offered me a treatment which didn't last very long and cost me almost as much as the haircut. The hair cut was fine but I didn't feel any warmth from the stylist and I didn't find the experience overly relaxing even thou I was the only client in the salon, I'm a busy mum of 3 and was looking to have my haircut in a well respected salon so I would get top service but it was not received at all! I can't say I'd return or recommend this salon to anybody else!!

I was assured the “quick” hair dye would cover the greys on the roots, and would not cost extra compared to the advertised price. I ended up paying just over $150 for roots coverage and a blow dry, neither of which worked very well. I normally pay $180 for colour, trim and blow dry. HO also normally supply a receipt ahead of time to advise you what you are paying for which I didn’t get, so I’m not sure what I even paid for, suffice to say I’m not sure I’ll go back.
