The staff were extremely friendly and it did have a nice environment as a salon- very fun. However, the chairs are quite uncomfortable and completely plastic with no cushioning, this can be particularly difficult if your sitting there for a longer session (I was there for 4 and a half hours for a scalp bleach and cut) and as someone with a chronic illness and having had a hip replacement, it was quite painful to sit that long in those chairs. I also found the shampoo/conditioner process really short and lacking, which I think at the price should be a part of the experience.

I never write reviews, much less bad ones, and I really wanted to love this place. But I’m very disappointed by the service I received at FUR, especially after hearing such great things. My appointment left me with a haircut I didn’t ask for and now hate, and an unpleasant taste in my mouth regarding the salon. From the moment I walked in, one of the lead stylists was coughing and spluttering, and loudly joking (?? Unclear) that he could have Covid, but then never washed his hands or wore a mask to protect his clients just in case. I brushed it off as probably a joke in bad taste, but could see it clearly made some customers uncomfortable including myself. I brought some photos of what cuts I liked and didn’t like, and a small list of things I wanted out of my haircut: I had a soft, collarbone-length shag that I wanted cleaned up with the ultimate goal to grow it out. I wanted some of the layers cleaned up to bring back the volume and texture. I tried to show these photos and explain what I wanted to my stylist, but I felt like I was being rushed and not really being listened to. The stylist seemed to have already made up their own mind about what cut they were going to give me before i even had the chance to speak. There was no effort spent trying to understand my hair and my style, my requests seemed ignored, and he immediately started absolutely hacking away into my hair - chopping chunks right out the top of my head! I quickly interjected, asking whether it was maybe too short for what I’d originally asked for, and the stylist replied that I needed to trust the process…? Once I realised there was no turning back, I tried to lean into it and embrace the very short layers. But then even the fringe wasn’t cut straight and I had to request he do a proper job (to which it still wasn’t cut straight and I had to fix it up myself when I got home.) The staff all chatted loudly to each other the whole time, not really engaging with any of the customers, and even poking fun at one of the clients from behind the counter at one point. I tried engaging in conversation with my stylist a couple of times, but he was clearly not listening, repeatedly asking me the same generic questions 2 or 3 times. I’m not sure if I’d just caught him at the end of a long, shit day or something, but the whole thing felt very unpleasant. I paid $110. I came in with a soft shag that I wanted to grow out, and emerged with a badly cut, unflattering mullet with half my hair now layered so short I can’t even tie it up. I hate it, am really upset and not sure how I’m going to fix it. I appreciated the complimentary cup of tea though…

Booked because of reviews. First time here. Lots of loud talking across the room and competing with loud 'doof doof' music. Not the usual salon chit chat. Just noise. Hairdresser Steven was so concerned about the next client waiting too long that their attention wasn't on me where it should have been. I actually saw hairdresser lifting my hair to measure the length but looking at other client. My thick hair was cut straight across which I did not ask for. Was not flattering. Hair cut was so 'choppy' again not what I asked for. When I asked for a semi straighten finish the hairdresser moaned and let out a sigh. WTAF. To top it off there was an odd chunk of hair longer than the rest. The best thing about my experience was Nugget the dog.
