I visited Baxter today after it was recommended to me by several friends. The service was amazing and I'm so happy with my hair. However, I need to express my immense disappointment that mask-wearing was not enforced during my appointment. Two clients arrived after me, neither of whom was wearing a mask. One of them mentioned to staff about masks, and the client was told that they didn't mind either way. The second client didn't even acknowledge masks at all and sat opposite me, maskless the entire time. Two staff were wearing masks correctly, and the other two had them as chin warmers. I found this very distressing. I am so vigilant with my care around Covid and the requirements to keep myself and those around me as safe as possible, and I felt stressed the entire time. I find people's refusal to wear a simple mask in an enclosed space with strangers so completely disrespectful. Nobody knows the situations of those around them, and I think a mask at a place like a salon is just an easy thing to do to help protect everyone. Given there is no ventilation in the salon with the front door being closed, I felt very unsafe and at-risk there for the three and a bit hours of my appointment. It would be so appreciated if mask-wearing could be rectified. Is it not mandated that masks are worn indoors currently? I am sorry to report negatively, and it in no way reflects on the service I received, but as a nurse and a mum, I am passionate about safety during these uncertain times. Thank you.
