Starfas Hair Design was established in 1985 by Peter Starfas on Chapel St. In 1998 Peter opened a salon in Wheelers Hill Shopping Centre where he stated until 2002. In 2010 Mel took over the family business, opened Starfas Hair Design in South Yarra Arcade, Toorak Rd. In May 2014 Starfas Hair Design relocated to Wheelers Hill Shopping Centre.
