I travel nearly two hours round trip to get my hair cut with John, and have done so since I first discovered him over five years ago. I am always happy with the cut and really like John as a person - he's a genuinely lovely person and good human being. The reason I go out of my way to get my hair cut with John is because I think he's an excellent cutter, and because he always makes one feel special and cared for. You leave feeling happy you went. From time to time I've got my hair cut elsewhere because I've thought surely I can find someone good closer to home but no, the cut has always been inferior and I've not liked the hairdresser as much. Also a small thing that makes a massive difference to me is a cup of tea, and they always offer a generous pot of organic loose leaf (or fresh coffee if you drink it) with your service. So I would highly recommend John to anyone looking for a hairdresser they can trust. In fact, I found out about him during a quest for a hairdresser who used natural hair color. I was calling melbourne health food shops for recommendations when one lady told me that she didn't know of hairdressers using henna but she could recommend an amazing cutter, that she'd recommended him to her friends and family and they all loved him. That was John and I've not looked back. John is the founder of the salon along with his wife so I also feel good about supporting a family business. Also I like that ever since I started going there they've made it clear they're always looking to improve their service and make their customers happy.
