I went in for foils and expressed I wanted a cool blondes but came out with brassy roots. Not worth what I paid at all.

I made my first appointment Saturday morning for 10.30am for grey cover color, and asked Matty how much it would be as I have not attended this salon before, Matty quoted approx. $79 I called at 10.30 to say I could not make it, and spoke with Leanne (I'm not sure if that is her name, she may be the store manager) Leanne let me know 11.15am was available, I accepted I am unsure of the ladies name that did my color, I let her know I have been using the Aveda deep range She did the right side and a junior lady did the left side and a small section was left grey The senior lady came back to let me know 35mins was the maximum time, I let her know I have been attending other Aveda salons and they leave the color in for 45mins. She also explained, if color is left on too long it can act in reverse and the color can come off. so I agreed to wash it off after 35mins After the junior lady washed my hair she asked to comb or brush it through, I said no thank you long hair is difficult to detangle while wet it's better to dry off then brush through. After a little while the junior lady wanted to brush through my hair, I could see by the large tangles growing as she moved the brush, she was not use to brushing long hair. I said it works better if you start from the bottom. I also asked for a brush as I did not want her to continue bird nest knots in my hair and she kept doing it the same way creating massive bundles of knots as she went Extremely annoying when you are ignored and your hair is being ripped out! As I waited at the counter to pay, Leanne said $96, I said I was quoted $79 and Leanne said that was for the earlier appointment this appointment was with a senior stylist I let Leanne know I would have appreciated being told up front and not surprised at the counter I also let Leanne know I was unsure if the color would stay as I have not had it removed at 35mins before Leanne said the stylists do not ask customers opinions as they can get confused I let Leanne know, I have been attending Aveda salon's for over 10 years and I have never been to this salon before, and this stylist does not know how my hair is with retaining color and it can look grey again in a few days if the color does not process well Leanne asked another stylist to give his opinion of the timing of color, he began to explain the process then Leanne spoke over him and I did not want to continue hearing what Leanne had to say because her manner had no interest in my point of view as customers always get confused! I will not make future appointments with this salon, the junior lady ripping my hair out with the brush and Leanne's manner was an appalling experience, I will be more than happy to drive the extra time to Guildford, Duncan and the team are amazing there!!

Since my previous consultant left the salon mid 2014 the level of hair styling has not been to the standard I have been used to. Consultation is minimal and no professional advice provided regarding finishing products that will enhance/maintain my style. I have needed to rearrange my style whilst still in the salon. Also the last few shampooing experiences have been awful, water temperature was scalding no attempt to test first or ask me. Footrest was not raised until I asked because of discomfort. Back massage not turned on, I didn't bother asking. Felt as though my hair was being ripped from my scalp instead of being handled with care and my hair was left feeling heavy and dirty instead of squeaky clean. Generally the salon has become chaotic and there is a distinct lack of attention during waiting time.

Hi, I would never normally complain nor fill out a survey but I was so disappointed with the service I received at my last appointment. My usual stylist has left and I was given a new stylist. I save to go for my appointments and was so upset at her abrupt rude manner that I contemplated leaving before she started. She was condescending, rude and dismissive which was just so upsetting. I was trying to explain what I was after and she was incredibly rude, I asked her if she could check my file and see the sort of colour I had last time as I really liked it and she said there was no record and continued to act in a belittling manner. I haven't ever had this service there before but don't feel I can go back. Which is a real shame. She warmed up slightly at the end but I was so upset by then I just couldn't wait to leave.

I was quoted $324 for full head foils and long hair cut. I also had their first time offer $30 voucher. It took over three hours and while I'm very happy with the cut, the colour is barely different to what I walked in with. I had light brown hair with old blonde highlights and I asked for dark brown with reddish/copper highlights (with a reference photo). My hair is now marginally darker with a slight red tint but mostly blonde highlights still. As good as the cut is, a subtle colour change (not to mention, not what I asked for), should not cost $401 ($100 deposit when I made the booking and $301 charge at the end of my booking). I doubt I would have been happy to pay $80 more than I was quoted (technically $110 if you count the voucher) if the colour had come out exactly as I asked. I questioned whether that was the correct amount considering my deposit and voucher and was assured that it was correct. At this point I had spent so much time there, I just paid and left. The salon is nice and the people I interacted with were lovely, but it doesn't change the overcharging for a good haircut and a very subtle colour change.
