Abysmal service! Will never come back

The day spa is very basic. Not luxury or very relaxing. The hot and cold pools were neither very hot or cold, and were separated for genders. May be great for some, but not ideal when booking a “deluxe couples package”. The massage was confirmed to be in a couples room and on the day they said this was not possible. My masseuse was very average and they evidently didn’t look at any of the forms we filled out which we were asked to specific any aches/pains or areas we’d like to focus on. My partners massage was great and they masseuse really engaged to check the pressure etc was all ok. Mine was the opposite and felt more like an oil rub than any sort of massage. I was asked to get up from my relaxing room to go and shower off (in the public showers) which felt very strange and ruined the relaxing moment. I’m not sure why this was necessary as my partner wasn’t asked to do the same. The “zen room” was noisy and surrounded by people talking very loudly. The changing rooms were basic, hairs on the floor of the salon and the sauna was Luke warm at best. Definitely won’t be returning or recommending a definitely not worth $300+.

Very expensive for the service received. Booked the couples package which cost over $330. We were in separate rooms and so didn’t feel like a couples package at all. massage and facial combined lasted less than 45mins. The creams used for facial burnt my partners face. The pool afterward was really cold. Expectation versus reality were very different. Very disappointing. Have done a few couples spa packages previously and this one was by far the least enjoyable and most expensive.

The facilities are filthy. There is no shower gel in the men’s showers. The steam room has slimy black mould under the seats. There are tiles lifting in the steam room. The shower head is broken in one shower. There is grit in the hot and cold baths. The change room is dirty. The water dispenser is filthy and running over. Hardly any lockers work. Many have shelves missing. Towel Hooks are broken. Rust marks on the floor from the metal lounges rusting. The sauna is dirty and grime under the seats.

The experience was disappointing in comparison to previous visits to Aquarius. Mai gave an excellent massage when I last visited while the massage from Rose today was nowhere near the same.when booking I was advised that Mai has left but Rose also gives a very firm massage, unfortunately that was not the case even though I asked for very firm. The atmosphere and amenities at Aquarius have also gone down hill. Broken showers, rusty / mouldy shelving and the hot magnesium bath was half empty. I noticed the herbal tea has been replaced with bowls of lollies?!? The music playing was horrendous and the staff show no respect for ‘quiet’ or relaxation in the zen room - opening the door to show off the room to new guests in a loud voice, and having loud conversations with guests in the room about their treatments (two separate staff members). Overall I left feeling glum and not at all relaxed. It’s time to find a new bathhouse.

The idea behind the day spa and gym is fantastic with a great location however the place needs a lot of updating! Fake flowers on the massage bed are a bit of a let down, makes it look tacky. Disappointing to see so many paper cups everywhere for guest water. During the massage I was disappointed my legs weren’t raised a bit like I normally get or something to cover my eyes when I was lying on my back. It’s definitely the little things that bring up the level of experience. Overall okay experience, definitely wouldn’t rave about it and wouldn’t feel the need to recommend it
